Let me introduce myself –
My name is Jay Newell. I’m 24 years old and hail form Scunthorpe, I know I know… why have a North South divide if your not going to police it!
Typical guy growing up, getting into trouble, playing football, drinking and girls. When I turned 18 moved to the Big Smoke to see what all the fuss was about. I felt a buzz in London which I had never felt anywhere before, I was hooked.
I started working in bars and have ended up in Soho as a mixologist, searching for the perfect cocktail, experiencing London’s numerous bars and basically living the life. And that is what I am going to talk about each week – new cocktails I’ve discovered and invented, events in and around the city and writing honest reviews of bars and clubs.
My personal favourite cocktail…a Classic Margarita – on the rocks with salt please, chased with a shot of Patron xo cafe!
Now if your going to be making theses drinks yourself you’ll need a basic kit which should consist of:
1 Boston Glass
1 Boston Tin
1 Bar Spoon
1 muddler
1 Fruit Knife
1 Hawthorne Strainer
