UFC daily update

The OAC (Ohio Athletic Commission) have issued the following suspension after medical advice after bouts at UFC 96

Mark Munoz — The former Oklahoma State University (OSU) wrestling powerhouse is suspended for 60 days
Mike Patt — He is suspended for 30 days
Gabriel Gonzaga — “Napao” is suspended for 60 days
Pete Sell — “Drago” is suspended for 30 days
Jason Day — “Dooms” is suspended for 30 days
Ryan Madigan — The Octagon newcomer has been suspended indefinitely because of an eye injury

Rashad Evans has come out and suggested he expects to fight Lyoto Machida although this has not been officially released by Dana White or UFC.
After the face over at UFC 96, I am sure Dana and co will do everything in their power to ensure we see Rampage and Rashad at UFC 98 main event.

On another Rashad point, he has also been quoted in saying he will find a kink in Lyoto Machida armour. His training camp and trainer Greg Jackson is famously known for tactics and game plans although are recently being investigated for the BJ Penn GSP grease gate incident.

411mania (good site by the way) have released their March top ten middleweights

1. Anderson Silva
2. Paulo Filho
3. Dan Henderson
4. Rich Franklin
5. Nate Marquardt
6. Yushin Okami
7. Robbie Lawler
8. Denis Kang
9. Yoshihiro Akiyama
10. Kazuo Misaki

Personally I think Michael Bisping would be higher with only one lose to Rashad Evans and due to fight Dan Henderson but let’s see how April’s is viewed. Might also change with the proposed

It appears Quinton Rampage Jackson is actual injured his hand the Jardine fight and will not fight, to me I think like Frank Mir it is important if you have a title fight you should be at your optimum fighting level otherwise you are only going to blame yourself.

mmamoz has an interesting article from referee in question Yves Lavigne, as I said yesterday I don’t actually think he should be punished as everyone makes mistakes and as no fighter were hurt.

“I feel really bad. Fighters deserve the best. Instead of talking about Mr. Browns great win people are talking about a ref. Mr. Brown won with athleticism and tools he has and I’m taking the spotlight away because of my mistake. I feel really bad about it. He deserves better. He worked hard for that win.”
After the fight Lavigne went to the back and checked on Sell, “Mr. Sell was ok, according to him and said I should’ve let it go.” Lavigne says. “I went to talk to him to see if he was ok. I do that on a regular basis after the fight. Sometimes with the adrenaline they tell the doctor they are ok but sometime later they are not. He really was ok.”
