Today’s UFC update includes some doom and gloom for UK fight fans, uncertain future for UFC undisputed 2009 THQ game and Dana White show’s touch love to training partners Keith Jardine and light heavyweight champion Raschad Evans.
Setanta the Irish broadcaster which has taken on Sky Sports for football, rugby and boxing coverage is said to has been another months payment to their bank. I know this does not affect the large majority of sports fans however UFC fans take note – if Setanta does go under (and look likely due to the credit crunch and subscriptions levels smaller than required) UFC would need a new home.
Kendall Grove look’s likely if he loses on Saturday he could be the first home grown TUF (The ultimate fighter) to lose his contract. UFC have openly admitted popular weight classes are brimming with talent and cuts are needed to be made.
Another doom and gloom story doing the rounds is the new proposed xbox 360 game UFC undisputed 2009 looks near to the chop. The issue is clearly down to money but with the big section dedicated to the game in June 08 and throughout the previous UFC events it will only go to show money is tight in every sport.

Dana White shows tough love to Greg Jackson’s camp, Keith Jardine and Raschad Evans have both said previously they do not wish to fight each other. Dana White said in the UFC 96 press conference on Thursday he expects them to clash in the future if Keith Jardine beats Rampage Jackson this weekend. The likely hood is that Rampage wins he gets Raschad Evans, if Jardine wins, it appears karate specialist Lyoto Machida will get his chance at Raschad.
Another interesting bout to be added is British fighter Terry Etim will fight 8&2 Justin Buchholz at the German based UFC 99. Buscholz had to drop out of UFC 95 due to injury which was actually against Etim. Terry Etim will look to continue his winning streak and make a move upto the top end of the Lightweight division.
