For anyone for knows me and for those I have worked with on SEO projects I am not the best fan of Google and the way they dominate the search engine market.
Being someone who has practised SEO and understands how search engines work, I thought it would be interesting to review some stats from my site
So in most good hosting packages they offer you reporting, I currently host with 1and1 and in their control panel they offer a good break down, I also use Google Analytic’s but that is another story.
Below are my 2 weeks stats : -

I know this is a one dimension test and is not the best way of comparing but as the stats clearly state, Google have visited my site massively more than any other site.
This could have happened for more than one hundred reasons although plainly I think it is that Google send their spider/robots out more often and review the net the most.
I do use wordpress which has optimised plug ins for SEO and I do use Google sitemap and Google Adsense but as I keep my blog updated with 3 post per night on average I would have expected more visits from Yahoo at least.
What also interests me is that Live aka MSN has not even visited my site, as it is primarily a blog and updated I would have expected there would have been a visit or 2. Actually scrap that, after blogging for 2 weeks and using MSN submission still nothing – interesting!
When search engines scratch their heads and wonder why Google are so far ahead, maybe consider that you do not visit sites enough??
Pains me to say but Google have their search market wrapped up and this is just one reason above… I will have a number of posts re Google, SEO and suggestions on how search engines can catch them.
