I have always wondered how Google Knol’s site worked…. is it another wikipedia clone?
Or more like a blog post… well after some reading Google Knol is like a dummies guide to specific topics.
What is really interesting is how easy it is to write and upload a Knol, no editor or any reviews before you upload.
As you may have seen on my dummies guide to UFC, I decided to change it slightly and upload it to Google Knol.

So far my tr.im stats suggests I have over 30 readers of my Google Knol, the majority have been from America, some from my twitter account and a handful from the UK and a few more from Canada.
I wacked in a backlink to my site and wondered if Google’s new baby would send me more traffic or give me some leverage on their search engine, as I only published this today it is difficult to suggest or report back but I would expect this is a good source of traffic and will no doubt send the Googlebot to betalabs a few more times this week (another post to come re bots and Googlebot)
As it is more of a social style experiement I will keep you updated but twitter traffic has been good and lets see how many more visits I get from Googlebot and if it helps me generate some referal traffic (fingers crossed)
